the journey throughout jbr from the beginning to the present
where it all started
JBR was formally known as Grasmere Plant Hire which was founded back in 2020 after the director joe tried to take his own life back in 2020 after getting bullied for how he looked and his height he went down a path which lead him to start a company doing construction at the age of 15
2020 - is the year we started the business, we had the opportunity to work in quarry crushing and recycling stone which is where I got my tickets to drive machines. which we worked at from the beginning of 2020 to the end of the year.
2021 - During this year we worked for a company called Bredon's, where we travelled across the UK carrying out quarry work. Our role involved completing muck shifts and operating a range of the companies machinery on different sites. This position required flexibility, safe machine operations. and the ability to work efficiently in varied environments.
2022 - We worked for a company called Flannery's, where we were involved in muck shifts and a range of civil engineering works. our role included operating machinery on site, supporting groundworks, and ensuring tasks were completed safely and efficiently, this role required strong teamwork. awareness of site safety, and the ability to adapt to different working environments.
2023 - We worked for a company called Hubb way, where we involved in site work in partnership with Story Contacting and Northumbrian Water. Our role included supporting civil and groundwork operations, working safely around live sites, and assisting with tasks related to water and infrastructure projects, This position required strong team work, attention to health and safety, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a multi-contractor team.
2024 - We worked for the company Llynch, where we carried out muck shifts and supporting a range of civil engineering works. Our role involved a bit of everything on site, including assisting with groundworks, operating machinery when required, and helping ensure jobs were completed safely and efficiently. This position required adaptability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well as part of a team across different sites.
2025 - At this time we still worked for Llynch up until August 2025, then we moved back to a quarry for accompany called Wordsworth for a month an then to Ash courts in October 2025 to present. ON site at the quarry we carry out daily quarry operations and assist with a variety of site tasks. Our role includes helping with material handling, working around heavy machinery, and ensuring work is carried safely and efficiently. This role requires us to have good site awareness, teamwork, and to have the ability to adapt to the demands of a busy quarry environment.
Throughout all of these years we have also done our own work such as drainage, tarmacking, groundworks, escorting.
